Situated on the Bruce Highway north of Maryborough next to the RSL building is a memorial that has been revamped as part of the 100 year anniversary of World War 1. This is an interesting memorial in that it’s focus is a huge artillery piece captured  by the allies in World War 1. It is one of only 4 captured guns of this type to be given to an Australian town. A walk around the memorial tells the story of the gun and the men who served from the Childers district.

A short drive from Childers along the Woodgate road in a small park is another memorial to the men of the district. it consists of small white memorial with an honor roll and the story of the wood replica of a German machine gun. sitting on top.
